The MAPS Method

May 28, 2025

We talk a lot about mindset, but not enough about how to actually change it on demand.

Everyone’s got their tricks…cold plunges, breathwork, caffeine, self-talk, mantras.

I’ve tried them all.

But nothing has worked more reliably for me than music.

And I don’t mean background noise or a productivity playlist.

I mean sound as a switch.

Sound as state control.

Sound as identity access.

I started noticing it a few years back.

Every time I had a big call… I’d throw on Metallica.

Every time I needed to build frameworks, Bill Evans.

Every time I got behind the wheel for a drive that felt like memory? Sinatra.

At first, I didn’t think much of it.

Just preference. Vibe. Mood.

But it wasn’t that.

It was ritual.

My brain wasn’t randomly vibing out.

It was priming for war, clarity, introspection, or resurrection based on the soundscape I fed it.

And once I saw the pattern, I started to sharpen it.

Take a second and think about it for yourself:

  • Is there a track you always play before doing something big?
  • A song that brings you back to center without fail?
  • One that takes you home…wherever or whoever that may be?

Now ask: What if that wasn’t just a coincidence?

What if it’s a coded signal to your nervous system?

So I built a framework.

Something simple, flexible, repeatable.

I call it the MAPS Method:

  • Mode – What state do I need right now? (Clarity, presence, fire, stillness)
  • Alter – Who do I need to become in this moment? (Strategist, Father, Operator, Shadow)
  • Primer – What specific track drops me there instantly?
  • Switch – What clears the state and brings me home?

Once I named it, I started using it like a toolkit.

Framework building? Peace Piece by Bill Evans.
Sales call? Break Stuff.
Self-reflection drive? This Must Be the Place.
Legacy conversation? It’s Alright, Ma.
War mode? Enter Sandman.

It’s not about mood.

It’s about precision entry into who I need to be.

Most people listen to music to escape.

I use it to arrive.

  • I don’t need motivation. I need state control.
  • I don’t need hype. I need resonance.
  • I don’t need noise. I need identity ignition.

You don’t have to guess who you are in the moment anymore.

You just have to play the right track…and become him.

That’s the MAPS Method.

Not a playlist.

Not a hack.

A sonic protocol for sovereign minds.

Patterns in Motion: Insights from a Life Spent Paying Attention

If you’re in a position of authority at a Car Dealership…This is for you
The Car Biz a world full of noise, I’ve made a life by paying attention—spotting patterns, identifying undercurrents, finding the deltas, and making sense of the chaos. When I notice emerging trends, I call them Bobservations.

When these observations prove noteworthy and actionable, they evolve into what I call Manorisms—principles and strategies that demand action. These are the insights I share with you, turning thought into movement.
