Zoom in
May 06, 2025
This morning, it was raining. Not the kind of rain that makes you reach for your camera… just grey, steady, uninspiring rain. The kind of weather that used to irritate me…like the sky was personally trying to ruin my momentum.
But today… I heard it. The raindrops.
The same sound I’ve paid apps and playlists to simulate before bed. And I realized…maybe it’s not the rain that’s the problem. Maybe it’s how I’ve been taught to look at it.
We do this all the time, don’t we?
Blame the weather. The mood. The timing.
As if peace or potential or beauty only shows up when the skies are clear.
But then I looked out across the field behind my house…
At first I saw puddles, mud, mess.
Then I zoomed in.
One section. One little flower.
It was perfect.
In that moment I realized… it’s not the scene that changes. It’s the zoom.
We find what we focus on. Every time.
What if the whole world was like that field?
A chaotic mix of gloom and bloom…waiting to be interpreted.
And the only thing that ever changed… was you?
You don’t need a new forecast.
You need a new lens.
The beauty’s always there.
So is the noise.
But you get to choose where you zoom in.
Don’t wait for the sun.
You might miss the moment that actually heals you.
The sound of rain hitting the roof might be more sacred than a sunrise…if you let it.
The shift you’re looking for won’t come from outside.
Not from the weather. Not from your schedule.
It’s inside.
Zoom in. Find the flower.
Let the storm do what storms do.
You’re not made of sugar…you won’t melt.
But you just might bloom.
