The time to move is never “later”
There’s a quote that’s been in my head lately.
You’ve heard it before, probably skimmed past it more than once:
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
– Martin Luther King Jr.
This isn't just a good quote.
It's a challenge.
And if you’re paying attention, it's timely.
The industry is shifting beneath our feet…tariffs, plant closures, uncertainty in consumer behavior, shaky inventory pipelines. This isn’t the first time, and it won’t be the last.
But one truth has always held:
“The prepared prevail.”
It’s easy to wait.
To strategize in circles.
To think “when things settle down” or “once I get through this stretch.”
But this is the stretch.
This is the test.
This is the time to move.

You’ve heard the oak tree analogy:
"Best time to plant it? 20 years ago. Second best time? Today."
So plant it.
Start showing up.
Get known…for something real.
Build relationships that matter.
Tell the market who you are… or let it forget you.
Whether it’s teaching yourself, joining a circle of peers, or getting help with your branding…
None of that works unless you do.
So let’s move.
Hold the Line
See You Next Tuesday
– Bob
